- Leaving airport car parking, turn right at roundabout to head to Belfast.
- Proceed towards Belfast (passing Cosmo car parking on left).
- Go straight across roundabout at airport entrance heading for Belfast (signed for Belfast).
- Go straight across next roundabout heading for Belfast (signed for Belfast).
- You will cross an unmanned level crossing further along this road.
- At next roundabout go straight across heading for Belfast.
- You now pass through Templepatrick village.
- At roundabout after the village go straight across heading for Belfast (signed for Belfast/M2).
- Go across the flyover with M2 motorway passing underneath.
- Take slip road on left for Belfast (turns in a semi-circle to meet M2 motorway under the flyover).
- Proceed along M2 motorway into Belfast.
- As you drop down into Belfast at bottom of hill two motorways merge, making five lanes going into the city.
- The motorway you are on crosses over the other motorway by a flyover and turns to merge with it.
- You will merge with it on to the left hand lane, you should now edge across the lanes to the two right hand lanes (signed for Bangor).
- Go over the bridge (that is the M3), take slip road to the left (signed for Newtownards/Belfast E) (Odyssey Arena on your left) pass under the motorway, go through traffic lights, and pass under railway bridge.
- Move to right hand lane and follow that around to traffic lights under the flyover.
- Go straight across traffic lights in the same lane bearing right to next set of traffic lights (park and ride on right/ traffic from flyover on right).
- Go straight across traffic lights and move to left hand lane.
- You will see a railway bridge ahead.
- Pass under two railway bridges and across bridge over River Lagan, remaining in left lane.
- At traffic lights turn left (statue of woman with hoop on left).
- Four lanes here, edge across two lanes (the lane on your right should now be a bus lane) and forward to traffic lights for pedestrian crossing (Waterfront Hall on left, Law Courts on right), and across these to next set of traffic lights.
- Straight across at these lights. A short distance ahead of you, you will see a T-junction with traffic lights. Two lanes turning left, two lanes turning right. You will be turning right at this junction, then immediately left, so before the lights you should edge into the left lane of the two lanes for turning right.
- At the lights turn right, and immediately cross over into left hand lanes and keep left at next junction (pedestrian lights) to proceed along Cromac Street to next set of traffic lights (Fire Station ahead on right).
- Proceed across traffic lights, where the road veers left, on forward to next set of traffic lights (Gasworks Commercial Park on left).
- That is the difficult bit done.
- Proceed along Ormeau Road (which you are now on).
- You will cross the Ormeau Bridge and shortly after Ormeau Park on your left and Ormeau Bakery on your right.
- At roundabout further on go across veering slightly right heading for Carryduff (signed for Carryduff/Newcastle).
- At roundabout before Carryduff go across heading for Ballynahinch (signed for Ballynahinch/Newcastle).
- Pass through Ballynahinch, following the signs for Newcastle, passing through villages of Seaforde, Clough and Dundrum, to Newcastle.
- At the roundabout, go left following the one way system into Railway Street.
- Proceed along Railway Street(do not turn into Main Street) at the end of Railway Street is a mini roundabout, go across the roundabout and the Slieve Donard Hotel is on your left.

- Proceed towards Belfast.
- Move to left hand lane to pass under bridge and go straight across traffic lights just after.
- Take slip road on left for City Centre (just before pedestrian bridge across bypass).
- Go straight over flyover to traffic lights at end of flyover (park and ride to your right).
- Go straight across traffic lights and move to left hand lane.
